Why I chose to write a historical novel from Meade’s perspective.

When I was nine years old my parents took me to visit the Gettysburg battlefield. Ever since that trip I have been fascinated with the Battle of Gettysburg and Civil War history. After I retired from my law practice I was looking for something intellectual to do and came up with the idea to write a book. Given my lifetime interest in Gettysburg and the Civil War I decided to write a historical novel. I chose to write the novel from Meade’s perspective because I feel he has not gotten the historical recognition that he deserves for his significant role in helping win the Civil War for the Union.
